Yes, Its True: Britney and K-Fed Are Over!!

It only took two years and two baby boys, but Britney has finally come to her senses and has filed for divorce from K-Fed.

L.A. Superior Court spokesperson Pat Kelly tells People.com, "Yes, its confirmed. It was filed today, on the grounds of irreconcilable differences."

The 24-year-old is reportedly asking for custody of both of her sons (Sean Preston, 1, and Jayden James, 2 months) with visitation rights for Kevin. She is also denying spousal support -- haha, we find that one funny -- and claiming that both she and K-Fed will pay for their own legal fees. We love that Britney has an "iron-clad" prenup, according to TMZ.com.

Wahoo!! Were so happy were speechless...

To be fair, we shouldve seen the signs coming, but instead, we chose to chalk up recent Britney events to her just being Britney. Heres a rundown of the past few days:

Last weekend Brit and K-Fed spent the weekend in New York City. K-Fed was in town promoting his new, er, album, Playing with Fire. There was no sign of Britney at any of her hubbys press events, or even his Webster Hall performance. When Kevin was asked if his marriage was on the rocks, he told People, "I dont waste any energy thinking about these things. I dont get caught up in it." Hmm, maybe you shouldve put a little more time and energy into your relationship, K-Fed!

Britney makes a surprise appearance on the Late Show with David Letterman on Monday night. She shows of a hot new bod -- and hairstyle -- but makes no mention of her marriage. Were a little stumped with this one. If we were announcing a highly public divorce, were not sure going on national TV would be our first move, but OK.

On Tuesday afternoon, TMZ.com is the first to report Britneys divorce filings, citing Monday as the day of separation. The report also claims Brit and K-Feds wedding date was actually October 6, 2004 -- not September 18 of that year as had been previously believed. The site also claims Brit has hired celeb divorce lawyer Laura Wasser, who has repped the likes of Angelina Jolie and Nick Lachey.

Us Weekly reports the couple had a "final blowout" at K-Feds album release party at album release at L.A. club Xenii on Halloween. "Before Halloween night was officially over, the pop star, dressed in a black minidress and barefoot, made a dramatic exit. She ran down the stairs crying and stormed out, a witness tells the mag. Her eyes were swollen and her eyeliner was smudged. She looked like a complete mess. Federline didnt run after his wife."
