Though apparently resigned to the dubious netherworld where semi-retired celebrities go to "relax", "cut back", "be with family" or whatever euphemism used to describe being "out of work", Julia Ormond is returning to the familiar, gentle world of mainstream filmmaking by accepting a role alongside Life Partner of Queen Mother Brad Pitt and Cate Blanchett in David Finchers upcoming dramedy THE CURIOUS CASE OF BENJAMIN BUTTON. Based on the F. Scott Fitzgerald short story of the same name, Pitt stars as the titular character who, at fifty, experiences two defining moments in his life: He falls in love with a woman (Blanchett) twenty years his junior and curiously (were here all week, folks!) begins aging backwards.

Julia plays the daughter to whom Cate relates the curious case (weve got shows across the nation!) of her beloved Benjamin Button. Curiously (last one, promise) enough, Julia is four years Cates senior which adds a deeper layer of meta-reality to a film thats sure to stretch the boundaries of reality in grand Kaufmanesque terms.
